11am Press Conference explores the repetitive nature of the living during a pandemic where staying safe and alive means watching the Premier deliver a press conference every day, which in turn becomes a ritual. This work is Gala’s take on Ed Ruscha’s OOF painting of 1962, similar to Ruscha’s work, Gala’s rendition is a feeling expressed through onomatopoeia, three letters that when read give you the feeling of being trapped in the loop of ritualistic press conferences. AGH can be read, felt and understood as a collective feeling so many can relate with.
